The Grumman/ Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler was the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps’ primary tactical electronic warfare (EW) and electronic attack aircraft for several decades. Developed from the A-6 Intruder attack airframe, the Prowler traded strike ordnance for a large, crewed electronic warfare suite and became a workhorse for jamming, electronic surveillance, and suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD).
